Capabilities
The AMS system upgrade team begins work by identifying your objectives, then
evaluating your current system. We look closely at both the costs and
performance of your systemthen recommend upgrade solutions that will
reduce costs, improve performance, and extend the useful life of your
current system.
System modifications and upgrades could include the following:
- Redesign and redistribution of airflow
- Cost analysiscurrent and improved system performance
- System component upgrade
- System control modification/upgrade(s)
As needed, AMS may recommend a repair or scheduled preventive maintenance
programone designed to optimize the capabilities of your upgraded
system, satisfy your business objectives, and optimize the output and
energy-efficiency of your “new” system. (For more details
on the various
repair/maintenance
services, click on this link for additional information.)
Performance Contracting
AMS can provide a system upgrade program based on an evaluation of your
specific system performance needs (design requirements/costs, internal
resource requirements, etc.), projected system performance, and return
on investment. Our system upgrade contract (services, costs, timetable,
etc.) will be based on pre-determined performance numbers. (If you are
considering a
new
system, click on this link for additional information.)
If you are interested in discussing how an AMS Performance Contract will
work for you and your company, contact your AMS representative.
Engineering
AMS utilizes a total team approach on every type of project and service we
provide. Engineering is a vital part of that team.
As participants in a system upgrade project, members of the AMS engineering
team will help ensure maximum usage and optimum performance of all equipment
and systems.
Services performed can include:
- HVAC load calculations
- Duct/pipe distribution design
- Code conformance analysis
- Energy management analysis
- System performance analysis
AMS offers engineering support as an in-house function. Our highly
experienced, professional engineering staff includes 12 graduate
engineersfour of which are registered professional engineers
(PEs) and three CAD operators. Our in-house engineering
department is one of the largest and most experienced in our industry.
Project Management
Effective project management is an important part of every design/build
project. Our in-house project management team works diligently to
ensure that each project or task is completed efficiently, on time or
ahead of schedule, and within or under budget.
Dedicated Project Managers work with our system upgrade teams to oversee
your system upgrade activity every step of the way.
Critical project management tasks include:
- Effective, ongoing communications with clients
- Communications with the AMS operational team
- Cost control
- Project/Task responsibility (crew assignments, schedule changes, etc.)
- Project closeout (when applicable)
AMS offers project management support as an in-house function. Members
of our project management staff (Project Managers and other team members)
bring a high level of hands-on and management experience to the job.
Control Systems
AMS is an industry leader in systems control (HVAC, lighting, access, and
others), providing a wide range of professional services, including:
- Energy management
- Network integration (new systems and upgrades)
- Open protocol installation (meeting BACnet and LonMark standards)
- Remote communication
- Controls and equipment maintenance
- Repair/upgrades to pneumatic/electronic control systems
AMS maintains a large in-house control systems department that engineers,
designs, programs, commissions, and installs leading-edge DDC (direct
digital control) systemscontrols critical to the energy-efficient
management of any modern HVAC system.
Today, DDC systems play a vital role in optimum energy management and
increased operating efficiency. AMS designs and builds custom DDC
panels, installs DDC systems (new systems and upgrades), and provides
remote monitoring and control.
In addition, AMS provides clients with a broad choice of non-proprietary
DDC systems, including Echelon, Honeywell, Distech, Johnson Controls,
Trane, and Carrier.
Sheet Metal
AMS maintains a large in-house sheet metal facility operated by a dedicated
team of skilled, professional craftsmen. Sheet metal team members
engineer, design, fabricate, and install ductwork required for all AMS
HVAC systemsnew construction and upgrades.
In-house services include:
- Design, engineering, and installation
- In-house duct fabrication
- Tenant finish work
- Air balance
- System modifications and upgrades<
- Industrial ventilation
Line capabilities include:
- Plasma cutter
- Large capacity coil line
- Aluminum, galvanized, stainless, and light structural steels
- Specialty welding and fabrication
Our professional sheet metal staff coordinates all activities with field
personnel, project managers, engineers, and others to ensure that the job
is designed to spec, ductwork is properly installed, and the new or
upgraded system will operate efficiently for many years to come.
Plumbing/Pipefitting
AMS maintains a large in-house group of experienced, professional plumbers
and pipefitters. AMS plumbing/pipefitting team members design,
